George Matick Chevrolet Child Safety Day 2007 We had a fantastic turn out for our family fun event! We offered booths from many kid friendly organizations, had a free bike giveaway, free bike helmets, information on immunizations and general child safety, Free Michigan Child ID Program (including fingerprints, photos, and more), and special thanks to the Redford Police and Fire Departments when they brought their trucks and the Redford Smoke House to experience and learn about what to do in a fire. We look forward to another similar event in the future!
George Matick hosts our 6th Annual Red Cross Community Blood Drive  George Matick Chevrolet was proud to host our 6th Annual Redford Community Blood Drive in May. A great percentage of our over 80 employees take part in donating, in addition to many generous community members in Redford, Detroit and beyond. We are also proud to be recognized by the American Red Cross for our continued support of their efforts in blood donation.
Matick Official Kick Off Site for National Safe Kids Week
 George Matick Chevrolet was extremely proud to help kick off National Safe Kids Week in February. Collectively our team helped many families as everyone had fun, glad to be out of the cold weather! We are in our seventh year partnering with the Detroit Medical Center and the National Safe Kids Campaign. Over 90% of car seats are installed incorrectly and that means kids are riding at risk. Anyone who has a child riding in their vehicle can come to the Safety Check Up and have the seat checked by certified professionals to make sure it safe and properly installed. If the seat is recalled or dangerous, it is replaced for free.
Offical Sponsor of Redford's Cub Scout Derby!
For the second straight year, we are proud to support Scouting in our local community. We have purchased and help to distribute Pinewood Derby car kits to every child in the area associated with Scouting. We look forward to our involvement in the spring when we'll be live at the Derby with fun Chevy Cars and Giveaways.
7th Annual South Redford Schools Auction  George Matick was pleased to host the Seventh Annual South Redford Foundation for Educational Excellence (SRFEE) Auction in March 2007 at our dealership. The South Redford Foundation for Educational Excellence is a non-profit organization that raises and allocates funds for educational projects that are above and beyond those included in the South Redford School District's budget.
Matick Collects over 11,000 books for NBA Drive
 George Matick Chevrolet, with the help of local Redford area schools, collected more than 11,000 books for the NBA Read to Achieve Program and the Detroit Pistons. Matick raised more than 2 times as many books as all of the other Detroit Chevrolet dealers combined! We are proud of our community pulling together to show the NBA and the Pistons that reading is first in Redford!
Toys for Tots Redford Collection Center at Matick
 George Matick Chevrolet continues to collect toys for needy girls and boys during the year and during every holiday season. The toys, books and the like are donated to the US Marines Toys for Tots program. We are an official drop off location for the Redford and Detroit communities. Always feel free to leave donations with us for pickup and distribution in the community.
Matick Employees participate in NASCAR DAY
George Matick Chevrolet Employees donated over $600 to the charity and continue to show their support for both the local and national communities. Nascar Day was held on August 20, 2004 and all proceeds raised benefit the Victory Junction Gang Camp for kids, which provides fun and meaningful camping experiences to chronically ill children.
