The Redford/Livonia Little League is one of Matick Chevy’s favorite community organizations and we love to support them.

The league kicked off its new season on April 27 with a parade from Hilbert Middle School along Beech Daly to Redford Township’s Claude Allison Park, where it conducted opening day ceremonies.

Our Service & Collision Director, Mike McLeod (above right), presented the league’s president, C.R. Moultry, with a $1,500 Chevy Youth Baseball donation.

Matick, the league’s major sponsor, also supplied several Silverados for use in the parade, along with a variety of new baseball equipment and T-shirts.

The opening-day program included team introductions, prizes, the first pitch by Matick Chevy’s Service and Collision Director Mike McLeod, and a game between the Phillies, sponsored by Modern Xterior, and the A’s, sponsored by Greener Method.

“Other than coping with the mud, the league and players had a great day and played some competitive baseball. The parade floats were creative and keep improving every year,” says RLLL Treasurer Jennifer Christy. “We appreciate everything Matick Chevy does for our league.”

As part of our Chevy Youth Baseball program, league players also will participate in clinics at Comerica Park, and will return there this summer for a special on-field presentation.
